The Youth Ambassadors Program is an official initiative of the US Department of State and, in Brazil, it is coordinated by the US Embassy and Consulates.
THE PROGRAM
The program is very competitive and receives applications from all over Brazil. Those selected travel to ashort-term program in the United States.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The program targets Brazilian public high school students who stand out in their respective communities for their positive attitude, good academic performance, knowledge of the English language, leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit.
SPONSORS AND SUPPORTERS
In Brazil, the program is implemented in partnership with the National Council of State Education Secretariats (CONSED) and a network of binational centers, as well as private sector companies that believe in Brazilian youth and support this important exchange program.
PARTNER INSTITUTIONS
The partner institutions of the Young Ambassadors Program include state departments of education and a wide network of binational centers throughout Brazil, which actively participate in the selection process of Young Ambassadors, applying tests, interviewing candidates, etc...
Since 2007, when the 5th edition of the Young Ambassadors Program was launched in the state of Acre, in partnership with the State Department of Education, Culture and Sports, 18 students from the state public school system have already been selected and traveled to the United States, with all expenses paid by the American Embassy in Brazil.
